SwordandKeyboard.com Reports:
So far I've played about 6 hours... 1st I would like to say this was not a planned purchase and I did not play
So far I've played about 6 hours... 1st I would like to say this was not a planned purchase and I did not play
the previous DA games. I am not a big fan of EA and limit my purchases from them. Because of reasons I dont want to get into
plus I am a huge steam fanboy. (yes people over fifty can be a fanboy LOL)
Graphics
Really love the artwork
Solid overall quality even on my dated machine (3 years old/ was all current parts when I bought it)
Lighting is awesome and I really think the frostbite engine is top knotch.
UI
Keyboard controls - need way more commands unless im missing them somewhere. For instance I cant figure out how
to clear the screen for screen shots.
Controls - a little hard to get used to but i am learning
Game Play story line
At 1st I was frustrated
But now i'm learning how it all works I am enjoying myself immensely.
On 1 out of 5 one being best I would say my entertainment score would be 1.5.
Excellent storyline, great characters, and story flows well. To be honest I am really surprised by how good this game is.
I tend to be really hard to please and if there is something to nag about I tend to hammer away.
Believe me LOL, trion got my earful on a daily basis in AA. So if I am not bitching that I got fair entertainment value
I will hammer the game everywhere, and make sure some other poor slob gets warned before spending good money on broken stuff.
I am not say others will or wont like Dragon Age but myself I am having a total blast. I am enjoying the storyline way more then I enjoyed
Skyrim. I find it more like game of thrones. Which I LOVE.

SwordandKeyboard.com Reports: After not playing swtor since 2011? I started playing about a week ago. I am having a complete blast!!
Game has ridiculous amounts of content for newer players. Don't just rush to 55 by spamming instances, enjoy the story lines and the animated conversations. Take some ttime to make new friends. I for one think this game by going f2p has created a new place for it self on the positive side. Even though it is free to play I already re subbed and bought some coins.
But if it was not totally free i would have never tried it again. Won't you join me? Sign up and try it... come join me and play star wars (free 2 play game), free 7 day sub, great fun! sign up here.. http://www.swtor.com/r/L59Wrv

SwordandKeyboard.com Reports: Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning™ Will be a big hit. I feel the game is very good for this companies first game. After playing the demo I felt like I wanted to explore the world more.
Mechanics wise I felt the interface and controls of the character is not to my liking but felt the game was still very much playable.
I did the trial version off steam. It is free and actually allowed me to play a considerable amount of time to actually get a good feel for the game. This is a game I would not have bought or reviewed if there was no demo. But because I got to try it out here I am writing about it in a favorable way.
I am not saying it is the best game ever but I give it a SOLID B overall. I found it to be fun and entertaining. The surrounding and landscape .. beautifully done, the story line excellent, just fantastic stuff for there first effort.
I have been playing these games for 30 years my 1st game like this was adventure on the atari 2600, and I can say that many hours could be spent wandering around in the amazing world they built around the indepth storyline.
My 2 videos on this can be found at ...

sWORD AND KEYBOARD: Menu Based Games ? f2p?
SwordandKeyboard.com Reports:
In my not so humble opinion I think the current saying ''free to play games " or "F2P" is the WRONG wording.
They should be called MENU based games. A term I have heard no one call these f2p games is MENU based.
Because really that is what they are. All games come at a price I don't care what anyone says.
At the very least there is a price on your time alone.
But menu based packaging is good for gaming, it builds communities. Of course your going to get the idiots that spout that ''f2p " encourages those with bad behavior to infect there community or favorite free game or game that's pay but considering a menu based approach.
That is a fail opinion. I have played some of the most exclusive games available some games that cost me a fortune to play.
Those games had just as many idiots as free 2 play games. So people think monitary requirement makes people act like less of an idiot? Wrong.
Infact I have seen thought process I paid to play this game I can say or act poorly, whatever, whenever, I want mentality many times.
Well I am saying what I want... call the F2P market Menu based. Your selecting price packages from a menu
sure some people choose not to pay anything but the name free to play in a way cheapens the sound of the game to many people and is a turn off because of the misconception of bad behavior and low quality player base in ''FP2''.
It has misinterpretation as being a soup kitchen for noob and bottom of the barrel gamer.
Also there is the whole pay to win wallet warrior mantra trap that game developers fall into, because they go for the quick buck rather then ''CARETAKE" there community and games. Small growth over long period is better then money grabs that make good instant cash flow.
Good Example :
Make the Menus fair and Xp related rather then gear and damage related. This makes for less instant cash but more balenced community. Plus a happier community.

PVP and You and Me and MMO companies
SwordandKeyboard.com Reports: MMO'S I want satisfaction , Give me !!
Territorial battles. Wanted. Battlegrounds in every game as the soul way to pvp is disappointing to me.
Here is my reasoning,
I am old school, I have no desire to be a superstar look at me im the best pvper, which make up alot of todays best pvpers(NOT ALL BUT MOST) . We live in a hey look at me society in real life. The places you see real life pvp it is not about hey look at me, its about teamwork.(meaning war or police actions or freedom fighters)
Heck even building a mmo is more about teamwork. every large scale teamwork based game I have really enjoyed. I enjoy a soldier type role. I don't mind taking instruction or orders from someone as long as winning occurs consistently. If the commands make sense I am more then willing to guard or defend or whatever is needed to succeed and have done so in many games. While in war-hammer I was in a guild called Ruin which joined a server dominated by destro faction, they turned the tides with low level players holding back guilds that thought they were PVP pros by using strategy and tactics.
Of all the games I have played warhammer and battlefield europe were the most fun to me because 24 hours a day there was a basttle for territory. It was never ending. Now most games have these stupid battles in a space size of a few football fields, the terrain becomes boring day after day until I quit.
I remember when alteric valley lasted all day long for one battle sometimes longer, then they made it timed. Then it lost the fun factor to me then. Not long after that I quit.
Global agenda promised global war and it ended up just being battleground instanced merrygoround as well.
Just wish someone would come up with persistent battles for territory and loot. One that I could play for a few years. Have tons of ideas on this if only someone would listen lol..
This void in MMO'S is disappointing to me.
feel free to comment.
